Well I have to say even after a beer that is a quality bit of photoshopping! The best I've seen on this forum ever! I would go as far to say I'd pay money for the .psd... 30mins... I think I see a flying sheep in the sky... Good way of doing the wiring though, especially with the double pole switch allowing manual control of the fan, however I would agree about losing the fan isolator as the fcu could do the same job if it were switched. It would then be easier to install, but it does tick all the boxes, manufacturers and regs etc. Good effort Elmer! :hurray:

Aww Shucks!! :blush5:
I'll take the credit for the drawing, but the wiring wasn't my idea. I just drew it out because I couldn't quite get my head round the written description.

If you look closely you'll notice the switches are all basically one image that's tweaked and then saved as a 3Pole "smart object", FCU "smart object" etc.. The cables are all "shapes" that by highlighting, or selecting, the anchor points you can stretch out and/or move the bends position. They then auto fill with the colour plus any effects that are added. I knocked up an "action" that shrinks "the marching ants path" (that you get by holding Ctrl and clicking a shape layer) by 5 pixels and fills it with yellow. Instant earth sleeving when used on the green filled shape! That and another couple of "actions" take care of the cables.

So yes. I probably initially spent a week on and off building all the original elements. But as they are all in layers its just a matter of picking what you want.

re circuit: Don't admit to that Elmer!!!

You should get yourself AutoCAD, can do some seriously good stuff with it.

I'm in the process of saving for that! Sadly real life keeps intervening. I bought PS when I was working in Bulgaria and was on stupid money (I was a Brit, working for an Italian die maker, in Bulgaria, for a Greek owned Company. Talk about Multi-National!!).

I've had some plays with AutoCAD and it looks like it would be fun. But seeing as it would just be a toy, the expense at the moment cannot be justified.

P.S. Was it you did the write up Archy?
