After working late on Monday in what I thought would be an easy PM job.. 2 spot in a on suite.. Doodle.. So i start with the first which is above the shower cubicle.. as I am a short --- I need the steps. So position the gear in the cubicle (Tools Etc) i carefully get the steps in and shut the cubicle... I must add this house is accumulate.. I mean spotless and as its a pm job i aint the cleanest.. well as in the cubicle i slip and hit the mixer shower.. Oh my lord where is this water coming from??? Ah its the shower.. Well the walk down from the third floor was a tad awkward whilst dripping over her clean cream carpet....

She actually just laughed...

I kept saying to him 'I'm sure i can smell gas??' it was getting worse so we shut it off at the meter then had a look round.... daft sod had screwed a floor board down straight into a gas pipe!

Lucky i was there to pull him out the crap that day!!

Good things is that you kept it between yourselves....you didn't go shouting your mouth off, telling everyone about his mistake! lol

Everybody makes mistakes mate, its all about taking responsibility for them and not shifting the blame onto somebody else, thats what separates the men from the boys

far prefer to bolloox a gas pipe than a water pipe. gas don't flood the place and is more easily repaired. ( unless of course you don't notice it and the house explodes when owner comes back with a smoke on ).

Back when I was working on festival sites a few years ago, the crew erecting the main stage were already running well behind schedule, and had managed to point the stage 45 degrees in the wrong direction so it was pointing directly at some houses rather than away into open fields........ so they managed to top that off by smacking one of their marquee pegs straight through a water main.

Or on another illfated festival, the crew who were pumping out the toilets had decided to save some money by not paying the fees to dump the sewage properly at the local sewage plant, but instead to pump it at high pressure straight into the nearest sewer on the road outside the festival. I was just in the middle of briefing our crew in the crew catering tent when the chef legged it passed us followed by a wave of raw sewage as the sewer had backed up and overflowed around 100m from where the idiots were pumping the sewage into it.

What about an electric pipe? We had a hellish pull to get some 25mm² submains into an existing conduit chased in above a board. Took ages but no real option, it was the only route up through the slab to the next floor, had some hidden bends that required lots of lube and sweat but the cables got there undamaged. First cleat of the surface-run MEB and the drill went through the conduit, courtesy of those hidden bends.

Two of us spent most of the day running a control cable through some plant. When it came to plugging it in, we realised it had male and female ends on.

Two of us spent most of the next day re-running a control cable through some plant.

I crashed a forklift into a wall, it had to be rebuilt, I crashed a forklift into a steel shutter door, it had to be replaced (twice), luckily I avoided the blame by complaining about spongey brakes, we now have a new fleet of forklifts,

although I was called mad max for a while
