Probably all in a days work for a professional electrician but it had me scratching my head. I wanted to fit lighting into a room but there is an en suite on the floor above, as you can see I made a hole in the ceiling and worked from underneath.

Thank you for the diagramUse 1mm² twin and earth / three core and earth for ease.
Layout is variable but could be like this, if it is a timed fan.

Remember the work needs testing for compliance with the wiring regulations.
Opps, wish I hadn't put the picture up!
Used a wiring diagram from my Readers Digest DIY manual.
For me the readers digest manual is just a starting point. I'am not doing any major electrical work and nor would I attempt to design a ring or radial circuit and frankly I find lighting circuits a bit confusing. I can read the current wiring regulations and if i'am not sure get advice from the members on this forum hopefully. What sort of response were you expecting?
What did the readers digest manual tell you about the current wiring regulations or even the basics of preventing fire and electric shocks through good design and proper testing?
In the light ( no pun intended ) of what I've learned from this forum I intend to replace the junction box with a MF box as suggested.I still don't understand how the junction box "will be accessible" - are you planning to leave an access hole in the ceiling?
I'am not doing any major electrical work
Electrical Safety: The Fatal Current - https://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~p616/safety/fatal_current.htmlThat won’t save you or anyone else in the property from receiving a fatal electric shock if you make a mistake or don’t properly design and test your work.
The current which flows through a 100W lamp is enough to kill a person in a fraction of a second.
Not aimed at you Dave replied to the wrong post sorry Dave
