I've only used one BG board, lovely to use apart from the neutral bar terminals were awwwwful! The threads on the screws or bar were totally fudged. Had to exchange it for another and it was ok, so I hope it was a one off.

Haven't done a wylex before and a couple of MK's which I thought sucked, hager have always been reliable boards, just wish they'd do away with the simply outrageous nicotiney creamy colour. :earmuffs:

Anyway, I hope it's not a cat 5 or similar else I will be informing the Band I/Band II segregation police :cool3:

Some answers : Red cable is the smoke detectors , reason i used stand offs is because they were putting in 12 " of insulation and i wanted to keep the cables off , the grouping factors were all calculated there are a few cable ties , by using cable tray it keeps the main runs in one place , you can walk over the hole of the ceiling joists and not stand on a cable , there was 2 spare was but they wanted a supply to a shed which was put in after , we were restricted to size and cost wise they didnt want to spend on rcbo's that was the largest board i could get to fit , BG board are a good little board i will agree with fail safe the screws are so tight the screws strip i think all the screws should have a torx head , as for the loft insulation , I spent a whole day removing it wearing protective masks and clothing it was saturated with RAT urine 4 dead rats and a small which made you heave i wasnt going to work in that so as it was an elderly ladies house i removed it for her nice The whole loft was then sprayed 4 times with disinfectant before we started

i like bg boards as well, the screws can strip but i have one screwdriver in my tool box that prevents this i don't know what make but after a few trials of others in my tool box this one works great. cant stand mk by the way.
like the tray but too expensive for my customers.

looks like a good bit of room between breakers and n/e bars, wylex always seem 'compact n bejou(spelling?)'. very neat job sir - exactly how i see mine.........one day soon, maybe! bg, is that screwfix only?

Be aware of Weils Disease ( Leptospirosis - National Library of Medicine - PubMed Health ) when dealing with rat urine mate, nasty disease mate and easy to contract.

Where did you get the red cable...could be handy..especially if it comes in other colours also...

Nah you can get them online as well as Tradepoint. Be aware that screwfixs sizes are wrong frequently, they quote two identical sixteen module boards as different sizes
