Is there a prefered method to bonding gas.elec to earth.

a) Incoming earth to Henley block, bonding to gas/water back to henley, 16mm to CU
b) Use CU as MET, with incoming earth to CU and the running bonding to gas/water back to CU.

secondly, does an 800kmf need an earth connection? i.e can earth run from an external met (henley) direct to CU, or should it follow the tails via the 800kmf.

i prefer to have all to an external MET if only because it's easier than pulling earthing/bonding conductors out from the CU earth bar.

Main Protective Bonding Conductors are best terminated at the Main Earthing Terminal, either within a consumer unit or external terminal block with a legend 'Safety electrical connection, do not remove'.

Why would you use a Henley block as an MET?? ...Just use a standard MET earthing block like everyone else!! Using the CU earth bar though acceptable, isn't exactly practicable for easy access. Not something i would do unless unavoidable...

but using the CU earth bar as a MET does have the advantage that it's less accessible for muppets to disconnect an earthing or bonding conductor.

Unfortunately, you can't protect the world from it's muppets all the time!! lol!!

At least an electrician can see what he's got connected to the MET on an external block. I like to see each conductor marked for it's purpose, maybe a little OTT for a domestic, but i still like to see it!!

Yep me too I dont try to think about it too much but I think it looks nicer plus anybody doing a PIR at a later date has won a watch
