hello there
a quick question.
what methods would you use to bond a large (possibly 4inch?) gas pipe???
thanks

Indeed, my local Newey's have a special on gas main earth spikes at the moment too. If they've sold out now there's always the drill and self tap option, you can stick a bolt in it as long as it's painted yellow.

If it's plastic I wouldn't bother, if it's in a commercial/industrial premises and the gas isn't connected yet why not get a stud welded to the gas pipe then fit a lug to cable.

exactly what i was about to say, if it's bigger than 3" it'll be welded rather than screwed so if the welder fella is still on site ask him nicely to put a stud on it for you.:D

Same as a small gas pipe except I would use a couple of clips joined togther and both screwed up tight.
(Don't forget to burnish the pipe before connection)

As Lenny says.....
Re- Nosparks post... I'm certain I read somewhere that joining 2 standard earth clamps to go round a large diameter pipe is not considered a satisfactory means of termination, cant remember where, may have been in an NIC publication.
