Bonding of conduit in kitchen floor

Bit of a debate today, advice please as regs book not possible to get in my hands until tomorrow. New job, apartments, in the kitchen there are 2 x 25mm conduits from an external wall to an island within the kitchen that is free standing, to be able to get the hob supply across and lighting with a spare in case any sockets are added at a later date. My question is, do these require bonding? Thanks in advance.

Got a belt off a tray with T&Es on it in a ceiling void a few years back. One length run across the void and was isolated from any earth. The cables dropped through the perforations with no protection and one must have been cut through because the tray was live which I discovered when I provided a path for it to the ceiling grid, never say never.

Thinking again about this subject, it will only require earthing, if part of it is exposed.

That we already done it 3 or 4 posts back, or is it the Regulation you disagree with?

I asked a similar question of Elecsa a couple of years ago regarding T&E running through a backbox to identify a drop, before going through a wall. They told me that as long as the T&E is continuous, then the backbox does not need to be earthed, as the cable is insulated and sheathed.

Maybe ditch the steel conduit idea and use something plastic?

And we shouldn't have to by Guidance Notes to understand the regs.
