Hi

Just wondering if anyone has a copy of the book "Electrical Installation Work" by Brian Scaddan and if so is it worth purchasing. I have heard his books are good? Also if there are any other books or helpful resources for trainees that you think are worth purchasing please let me know. Thanks

Sarah

Don't think anyone has mentioned it to you yet but the "Part P Doctor" is pretty decent for a newbie such as yourself. It has good simple breakdowns on lots of things and has loads n loads of photos which would probably help ya.

Happy reading!

Now there's an idea! sarah it might benefit you to download a copy of Approved Document P, google planning portal and you'll find links to all documents covered by the building regs. There's a few which aren't really relevant, see if you can work out which ones you'll need in the future.
That's homework for you hehe.

Hi
Been trained 10 years now, purchased many books, "Electrical Installation Work" by Brian Scaddan, Trevor Lindsay, and a few others all good but the best books which are laid out well and seem pardon the pun idiots guide to electrics, which i have lent to many a trainee and all loved them for there clarity and good examples are the: JTL, Electrical Installations, NVQ and Technical Certificate book 1 and book 2 by Heinemann these are worth buying you wont regret, can only give you ISBN for book 1 as yeap the other is on loan again. book 1 ISBN 0-435-40199-8. These 2 books will get you through all electrical science principles and a lot more.

Afternoon sarz...

still got your backside hanging out i sees...
What the hell is that all about and why is it relevant? Do you feel that you made a worthwhile contribution to the problem she asked for help with?
I've been holding a baby dressed as Santa for 2 bloody years and yet you never felt the need to comment about that

You're probably right mate but I'm tired, half cut and in a bloody bad mood (for reasons I won't go into) Maybe I shouldn't have said what I did but I think it's valid.
I'm just fed up with reading all the crap like that.
