that's it, paul. next elex, i'm wearing it.

I'll buy the first two pints if you do! Besides, we will meet again before elex but lets not talk about Boris Johnson.

Thanks Adam W for getting me into this thread, I really dont do politics. Leave it to you guys, I'm out of here.

Adam I dont really do politics
I'm sure I've posted this here before but that reminds me of this advert:

when ever Boris Johnson is on the news, I cringe knowing that the world is watching and we some how picked him to run our capital city.

Personal opinion, the man is a fool, ditherer, silver spooned and does not live in reality. Not the best man to represent London/England imho. Is he the best this country has to offer? I would rather see one of the Dragon's Den in charge, at least they know how much a loaf of bread costs!
Is this mainly based on his image?
As I said before image seems to be crucial for a politician, and Boris seems to offer something different - instead of a bland, privately educated, well dressed man in a suit being chauffeur driven around in a luxury sedan, Boris is a mildly amusing (privately educated) scruffy buffoon on a bicycle, which gives him a unique selling point.

So this begs the question - who would you rather vote for as a politician, whether it be MP or PM?
People say they want a 'man of the people' but they didn't seem to like 'the grocer's daughter' (remember now the 'female vote' is important). I think whoever is running for MP will put on their politest voice and best suit, just as you would for a job interview.
Is Boris saying a smart suit doesn't matter if you're a good politician, trying to appeal to people who don't wear suits on a daily basis, or just trying to stand out amongst other politicians?

Maybe a ditzy asian nail technician with tattoos and lots of boozy pics on facebook would tick all the boxes? Would you vote for her as your MP?

He had to apologise recently for a racist outburst, he sang eeny meeny miny mo, and it was a racist version, also he is a well known tory supporter and is outspoken regarding right wing politics, I have seen him talking on the tv several times and he is a right wing loony, where have you been lately=the moon lol

No I have had my head up my arce
But come on they all call each other nig*** and I used that ditty at school and I never had a racist thought till I was 25

For some strange reason it's acceptable for a black guy to use that word to another black guy, just like it's acceptable for a gay guy to call another gay guy something beginning with F.
Don't ask me why, I don't make the rules (although a lot think I should) :)

I can still remember the scruffy sod at the closure of the Beijing Olympics when the UK did the preview for the London Olympics. A dumpy Dressed man in a suit, that was obviously old and too small, with both hands in the jacket pockets most of the time, a tie with the knot half under one side of the collar, that looked as if he'd bought it from a charity shop, and the unkempt hair cut reminiscent of a silly schoolboy..... Honestly, you CAN'T imagine the amount of Chinese people that have remarked on how scruffy this bloody idiot looked!! Unfortunately they actually thought he WAS the PM of Britain too!!

Just the sort of guy to represent the UK overseas, ....NOT!!
