Lol, its funny seeing people have the same reaction as me,,, listening to 3 american electricians go on about how there gonna do this and that and all the while your thinking you cant be serious.

They have alot of 12/2 Direct burial, basically its 2.5 twin/e thats allowed to be buried with no more mechanical protection. the A/C units are called chigos, they run at 9 amps maximum load so each building with most likely be pulling no more than 40 amps total, it would be so much easier to put a single phase panel in each building, and would make balancing the loads easier, but who am I to tell them lol, basically im operations and maintenance and these people are repair team so I'm not allowed to have anything to do with it.

Makes me laugh when the americans finish a job, they switch it on and if the power comes on....jobs a gooden, no IR, R1&R2, Zs. Also, fit an RCD, press the functional test button, if it trips, all is well in the eyes of an American!!

I dont mind if there code is different, it just annoys me when they come on to the site which is all british power and then want to start discussing things with me, I just feel like choking them whilst screaming leave me alone!!!

Generally they would only conduct IR tests, but apart from that, i fully agree with you!! lol!! And they have the cheek to call themselves ''Master Electricians'' ...lol!!! They tend to rely on State electrical inspectors in the States, who i'm told will conduct any further testing as they see fit!! Most, even these inspectors will have never seen an MFT, and few will have seen an ELI tester. Even there RCD testers are only very basic affairs, that rarely show any actual readings of trip value or trip time....

A typical American electricians test equipment will consist of ...multi meter, (not a MFT) clamp amp meter, volt meter, IR meter, 3 wire earth tester (if their lucky). lol!!

I would just like to add, they are yanks doin electrical works in the uk and should therefore be complying to regs in this country.

lol, Afghanistan is alot like britiain, just nicer weather.

One last moan,,,, Answer to everything is another ground rod, Ive never seen so many ground rods in my life. something wron with the electric, quick stick another ground rod in.

At least they are using decent sized earth rods, UNLIKE the UK lol!! Those 10 footers as you call them are what i'm used to seeing and using. To be honest, i've never actually seen a 1.2m rod of any size!! lol!!!
