BS 7671 max surface temperature under fault condition ???

Can anyone give me some clarification on the following.

I am installing some Osram Planon Plus led light panels into a temporary building and have been told the transformers need to housed in an enclosure as they do not have the correct markings for BS7671 "max surface temperature under fault condition".

Im a mechanical design engineer and not disagreeing with the request but want to understand the regulation and why these off the shelf units need additional enclosures in order to be used.

Thats what I thought, although as mentioned earlier I would like to locate the driver on an aluminium heat sink away from combustible material in free air.
Osram are now looking into the issue for me.

My take is - the regulation requires less than 115C during a fault and since the manufacturer does not warrant this, you become responsible for achieving compliance. I would choose a driver that included the symbol, one less thing to worry about .

Might be that he can’t return the drivers he’s got as the supplier is saying they are fit for purpose.

The intended use is for the light panels, 10-off to be installed into a temporary building, they can all be controlled from one remote, dimmed and temperature (colour) changed. Finding a compliant driver to do this is really quite difficult.
