What did you think of the Apollo Plateau detector..?

Not sure, is the honest answer... first impressions? Long winded way of achieving .... very little.

I think essentially it's a miniature beam detector really, rather than a "point" detector as such. Seem to recall it needs 24V power as well as a circuit pair too.... so 4 core just for the detection.... going to get expensive fast.

Liking the Nittan stuff a lot lately though. Evolution, and it's fairly low profile too - not as low as the Plateau, for sure, but on a standard "shallow base" only about 35mm tops off the ceiling, and a very snazzy 360 degree LED....

Worth looking a airsense grant, got quite a few installed in schools covering void and hall areas were they dont want hatches, all still stitting the pretty, test the with 30 secs smoke pellets and there off

the Plateaus were fiitted in a £3.5million house in Chiswick...lol

Wow. Probably much of that house is marble.... I'd have scrubbed the alarm at all, I think and gone with a sprinkler system.....

That said, I believe I had some info a while back about a firm who were claiming they could "colour" plastics including smoke and heat detectors, to match their environment.... fairly sure it went in the bin as "do not paint detector" is still well within my memory as being stamped on many early heads :)

am going to sign off now, will be back on in the morning.....

on a lighter note check out Pablo Francisco on youtube......funny stuff....then probably best to fall asleep also....

I once fell asleep in a big hotel kitchen during nightshift maintenance and woke up to about 12 chefs/cooks tramping over the top of me like i wasn't there....

night night accordfire/bill and Taz :snore:

I think Bill this was just a passing bit of banter when I asked where you had been, i dont think it was aimed direct
Nope, a lot of people would like to shake Bill "warmly by the throat"; something about doing work for him which he never paid for? I don't know, I wasn't there, but Bill seems to have rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way.

I don't know you Adam.

I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this now. But I will say for the record that I HAVE NEVER, EVER, asked anyone to do work for me and not paid them, to my knowledge.

I will sort out whatever the problem is. Happy to leave too - my intention has never been to upset anyone.

I don't know you either - I've never met you, spoken to you and I don't think I've ever sent or received a PM from you or even addressed you directly in a thread before now, but it seems your reputation has preceded you.

Be that as it may..... I wouldn't have commented on you without knowing the facts.

Part of those fact being that this is (as far as I know) a single issue, which I am trying very hard to get sorted - an issue I knew nothing about, and an issue that I couldn't have dealt with having been off work for a long time due to a second heart attack.

So, maybe better all round if the people who have an issue I need to resolve talk to me, and the rest stick to what they know. I'm sure you'd like it that way if it was you.
