Trust me on this, it's a lot of help. As Onions says there are many variables which will affect the cable selection and consulting a local electrician is the best course of action as it's nigh on impossible for any of us to give the correct advice over the net. You can probably save a few quid on the job by digging the trench and running the cable yourself (but not backfilling it) but that's about as far as it goes. I'm sorry if you think I'm raining on your parade but it's the best advice I can give.that's not much help,
