Discuss Cable size from the meter to the fuse board in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

FORTY FIVE METERS!!!!!

If you haven't already done it then:-
- Over 3 meters, you should advise your DNO so they can come and fit a fused isolator (Ca-Ching!!!!!!).
- If it is buried or not fully visible along the whole run, then it must be mechanical protected.
- Calculations need to be done to ensure the correct sized cabling for the load.

No .... it's one meter but it's 45 metres away. ;)

And yet another thread which the OP takes really seriously descends into a riot of sarcasm and p taking, one of the reasons I love this place :)

go 25mm swa. The volt drop i think will be 7 volts which is within the 11.5volts. If you are not qualified and you dont want to pay an electrician to do the work then at least get one to test the cable. If you speak to him beforehand he might even advise on a better route.

Terrible advice! You give him a cable size then follow it up with an "I think" on the VD. The best advice has been given and that is to get an electrician in.

Advice like this is dangerous.
