this is definately very interesting and i thankyou all for your reply's. i do have another question. to become part p registerd i read something about them checking your previous jobs what does this include or am i wrong can i just take there in-house tests and become part p registerd? thanks agian for all your help , much appresheated (remember im just out of college and iv had quite alot of experience but not with someone who is an electrician any more, where do i stand on becoming self employed?)

you must provide 2 jobs 2 be looked at a minor works and an electrical installation. As far as i know there is no in house test?

I'm registered with elecsa and they provided adequate information on their website regarding what is required.

when you say an electrical installation do you mean a full electrical installation from scratch (all circuits etc) or do you mean an electrical installation of one circuit such as a shower circuit? thanks
