much easier to stich drill and then use a sds scutch chisel. using this method, i do a double box cut-out in engineering brick in 10 minutes or less.
I must admit I've never really given stitch drilling a proper go, always seemed a bit long winded to me than just scutch chopping once through the plaster.
I have a rewire starting Monday so may give it a try for the first 20 boxes and see how it works out.
 
Whatever method you choose,it goes without saying,the material being carved,is the deciding factor.

I have dealt with innocent looking walls in Cornwall and Wales,where every fifth aperture,required a thermic lance o_O

Hahah, all good up here. 95% of my work is Victorian/Edwardian era red brick.
