See if I'm on a gas or oil boiler job I always check to see if they have a Carbon Monoxide detector & if they don't I suggest they either get one I will install or they get one that plugs into the mains. Anyway, who's responsibility is it to make sure there is one, if anybodys? Is it the sparkies, the plumbers or the housekeepers?

As a spark all I do is advise, if I notice the absence of carbon monoxide detectors and/or smokes, after all I won't have touched the gas or oil side of things. Ultimately I'd say it's the homeowners responsibility, after all no tradesman can force someone to have something.
Sounds sensible. I don't work to the gas regs myself, being a spark, but it's always useful to glean bits of info where you can! After all, I complain enough when the bloody plumbers mess with my wiring!

I am a spark too but was on a god awful contract were I had to hard wire CO's in that situation.
