is it hard to install / modify??

got a job where the client wants to re locat his office about 3 meters away in to another room and needs his connection also extending...?

is it similar to BT stuff? etc..!

never touched the stuff EVER!!!

yes mate really easy you can but cat 5 extensions (joint boxes )or i would pull cables out of existing room and terminate them above ceiling then use a 5 or 10 m patch lead down to new position and then re terminate ?hope this helps
it might be easier to pull new cables in depending on length of run?

its pretty simple mate. buy an RJ45 crimping tool, and a male rj45 plug, and a female 5j45 plug. to crimp the plug on, hold the plug with the brass contacts facing upwards, and away from you. colours are in this order from left to right, orange white, orange, green white, blue, blue white, green, brown white, brown.

to crimop the plug on, strip the cable down, so that you have about 10- 15mm of the cores. push them into the plug, making sure they are flat and when fully home, crimp.

make sure that the female is done in the same order.

When punching down an RJ45 socket, you need a krone tool. thye connections are labelled, and we us the ones labelled B. remember B= British!!

to be honest mate a small flat screwdriver does the job just keep your pairs right, wiring diagram in any accessory you buy tells you the order.

cat 5e cable is so cheap from cpc, buy 100m and replace cable, no joints. just have to punch the ends in then
