Cellar lighting recommendation

So I have had the cellar cleaned and painted with limewash - it's an old house and tanking causes as many problems as it solves.

The problem I have is the lighting - the floor joists are exactly 5ft 11inch from the cellar floor - currently there is a single ceiling rose in the middle of the cellar. I was planning on adding another light and moving the rose but I don't know what type of light fitting or fixture I should go for.

I certainly do not want another ceiling rose as I have banged my head against it a few times - I am not fond of flourescent tubes either but they do have a low profile I like. I know I could fit a ceiling rose on its side so the bulb points sideways rather than down.

Diagram below shows the floor joist and the current light attachment.

LED Slimline batten fitting or LED Panel, even lower profile than fluorescent (can you still get fluorescent fittings?)

Why do you want to fix lights to the joists? Drum fittings, screwed to the underside of the floorboards are the way to go.
Pick fittings that deep, so that the bottom of the diffuser is close to level with the bottom of the joists to help avoid shadows.

This gives the depth as 50mm, which is clearly incorrect, just by looking at the pic., and the fact that these fittings are designed for old type incandescant lamps which simply wouldn't fit in a 50mm deep fitting. I've used these in the past and the base alone is probably about 50mm deep.
You could mount it on a square of plywood or chipboard to bring it a bit lower if required.
