Just wondered what you all think about one of the changes to the regs.
Having to install an earth rod when changing a consumer unit.
 
That's the question my boss asked, what happens if it's a flat. Do you think the extra cost of having to add an earth rod will put people off having a board change or will more people be looking for a cowboy to do it cheaper
 
For this reason details will be included in BS 7671:2018 for the installation of arc fault detection devices (AFDDs) to mitigate the risk of fire in final circuits of a fixed installation due to the effect of arc fault currents.

American pressure sales have worked wonders on members of JPEL/64.or is it one American import that is desperately needed?
