changing consumer unit

hi changing a consumer unit on thursday just found out the main fuse and meter damaged so no power to building am i still able to change it or do i need the meter and fuse changed first

You can still change it, but you wont be able to issue cert till power is available, because you will need to do the live testing.
Dead testing should throw up any problems, so carry on. I personally wouldnt do it, cos there is no power for the kettle.

the supplier will want a certificate with schedule of dead tests before changing the meter and cut out. so you can change it if you wish, complete dead tests so meter can be changed etc, then live tests. jd
