hi have done some chases for for a ring main around my kitchen do i need to put conduit over the cable before i plaster the chases please advise me thanks

No you dont providing you dont damage the cable when you plaster it in.

Dont forget, you will need to submit a full set of test results and inform your LABC as this work is notfiable.

Hi Ritchbatch.

I think you mean 'capping' don't you?

I'd say yes, it's worth doing. 1) it offers some protection to the cable(s), not much admittedly. 2) if you get the capping on there without clipping on the cables to the wall, then it leaves open the possibility of pulling new cable through the gap in the future, from above or below, 3) It's really cheap.

Number 2) is the main reason for me.

prefer ega tube. drill and plug clips, good fixing, east to pull thru. never could get good fixing with capping and nails.
