city&guilds 2396 what is it ??

Hi all
my local college has just contacted me about doing a course called city&guilds 2396,is this the old 2391 20 design course and also how hard is this exam and is it worth doing as i only do domestic work part time working for my self. What does the course include?? the course would be done at night college over 3 months one night a week

2300 level 2
2330 level 3
2382 17th
2391-10

hope that is enough to get on the course

If you have the 2391 and and good knowledge of how things work they should accept you. I'm doing it myself as soon as someone runs the course in cornwall...... Lol

No one I'm aware of.

do many people pass or even do the 2396 level 4 design and verification ( was 2391-20 ) as it is expensive and a lot of effort !! want to have a go but is it worth it ???

From what I've been told its a good course.
Especially if you design your own ccts or design them for other installers.
I'm sure someone will give some feedback

Dcet training are going to be running it from the autumn in Exeter and Redruth.
Really good training as well.

Well the course only started at the beginning of the year so its too early to tell if its tough to pass or not.

As you only work part-time in the domestic sector , then probably not to be honest

If i were in your shoes i'd do the city & guilds 2393 building regs course instead -
alot cheaper ( £200 ) , alot easier ( 1 day course plus 1 multi choice exam ) and is structured around domestic work.
And you still get a G&C certificate at the end of it.

In fact , im having second thoughts about doing the design course myself.
£700 for many hours of tough study and it wont help getting a job even if i pass.
Think i'll blow the cash on a holiday instead lol.
