City & Guilds Level 1 diploma in Electrical Installations

Hey guys

I'm very interested to find out what I will be learning on this course, the college guide was lacking a bit on info.

Anyone done this course before or knows roughly what it includes/covers?

Look on C&G site they will list all the modules and learning outcomes. Just look up the number of the course.

they do a level one aswell? on the level 2 i started from, we started with wiring up a plug lol and it went from there, i cant imagine anything easier than that, so what they teach on a level one i have no idea unfortunately.

Check with the college Barry, go to the department head/program leader because the admin staff are generally clueless.
There are 2 main providers, C&G and EAL and both courses are very similar.
The three levels are generally as such. Level 1 is very basic stuff, tool recognition, basic theory etc. It's generally for school leavers. Level 2 is similar to level 1 but a little bit more involved, generally for those who know what a 13A plug looks like and have GCSE maths and english or equivalent. There is a direct access path to Level 2. Level 3 is generally a progression only course, as in you need Level 2 before going on to it. I'm currently on Level 3 EAL at the minute, a lot more theory, and expanding on stuff learnt in Level 2.
