Has anyone used or is still using the CK combi cutter3. Do they work or are they just a gimmick?

Great if you are just doing terminatoins ie stripping short ends but they lack a large enough cutting area for cutting whole cable but i find them good for the above.:)

Gimmick IMO

Like many of you lot i have a bit of a tool obsession so i got some and was not impressed.

Its more trouble than its worth trying to line the cable up with the correct sized slot to strip

And youre right there isnt a large enough general cutting surface.

I often think that some tools have been around for years for a good reason and if it aint broke dont fix it

A bunch of designers must sit around a table and try to improve on things which dont need improving. Often making them worse.

an example - Anyone drove a new Vauxhall Zafira? it took me 25 minutes to take the handbrake off! what was wrong with the old style handbrake???

Correct, its a excuse to buy more sexy tools, hence i have half of the knipex range, Side cutters, strippers, various pliers and a big pair of cable shears that will easily dispense with 10mm T&E without any problem at all
