having read this forum for a few years now it seems to me that its lost its objective seems now unless you are a degree standard or above you will get slated for any questions asked, the clique will arrive enforce to slag you off am I the only one who thinks thank f*** I don't work on site with any of these guys ,then the chief housebashers will be on chirping how they do everything perfect. these are the guys who have never been under pressure to get things going with only whats on your van or in your tool box .then theres the retired spark " who in my day we did everything perfect" were trained to the max, who really are bitter cause nobody wants there old skills because times have moved on and they have been left behind thinking "I used to make all me own bends" when in reality they took 5 hours to make one, yet its cheaper to buy one. you know who you are so come on flame me !!!!!

I agree can be full of a holes with nothing better to do. All there interested in is make a snide comment thinking there funny. I look to this place for some serious Techical debate but there's only a hand full who could actually teach me something

what do you expect the replies to be whenever a so-called professional, qualified spark asks a question that a 2nd year apprentice would know? for example, several times recently, it has been asked " why is an RCD tripping?", when the poster has not done any relevant testing and/or does not have the knowledge to do so. it's no wonder he's told to go forth and get someone who knows what they're doing.

I too see the slating that occurs but 9 times out of 10 the OP will neglect to include any real information about a fault and worse still no opinions of their own as to causes and solutions. So it is easy to understand why these highly knowledgable peers get so annoyed when its one question after another on basic issues

So a member since Mar 2009, with a total of 32 posts has an opinion. Maybe YOU should be contributing more.

why do members think the regulars are here to teach them and answer everyones problems ?
this isnt fookin wkipedia , were here to have a laff and wind down like a staff canteen.
anyone wanting sombre technical debate can use the IET site instead of expecting us to constantly repeat guidance of rcd's / sheds / inspecting for the thousandth time because no-one can be arsed to use the topic search function.

Couldnt agree more with the OP. I'm fed up with seeing reasonable questions getting asked ITF and getting a bunch of pompous, patronising responses. We're all at different level and is this not the point of a forum?

And your point is??

But, while you are here, maybe I can help to further your education so your efforts will not have been entirely wasted?

First: the clique will arrive enforce should be "the clique will arrive in force"

Then:
nobody wants there old skills should be "nobody wants their old skills"

I make no charge for this help to you - consider it a gift.

There's no need to thank me either. You are most welcome and the pleasure was all mine.

Happy trolling ..........
