Conditional reporting , how in depth do you go to satisfy your recommendation

Did testing and inspecting 10 year ago
Do a lot of new installation tests and conditional reports of our own installs once they are up for renewal , so don’t really have to put codes on any thing because it’s all usually pretty much up to current regs
This thread has been created because of my house rewire one last week
I don’t go into installation’s houses , factories etc and do conditional reporting
Where you you start delving deeper into the installation if you have suspicions thing are not right
Insulation resistance , just flood test at dB all line conductors to earth only
Today a thread has mentioned a metal sw with no earth to face plate , would you pick that up and physically unscrew face plate and check
How long would you spend testing a 3 bed house say
Like I say I’m far from an expert on conditional reporting and putting codes to items , just put this out for interesting chat and to pick up a few tips

Probably yes --- BUT I always do a site visit before agreeing to undertake a EICR so a brief visual would help, as would any documentation available

I’m taking it insulation l+n to earth you would do 100% because that would be all circuits together in one test, flood test is it called and if that’s low start testing circuits separate to find circuit that’s possibly dragging your flood test down
I also think this is one of most important tests

Global ir tests were ok before RCD's came along, and even less impractical now we have RCBO's becoming increasingly popular....

Global IR on an EICR because an awful lot of DB's are such a mess disconnecting the appropriate neutral is nigh on impossible, that's if you can even see the N bar.

personally id Zs every circuit, visually check a percentage of accessories

a couple of years ago when I did my testing qual we were told you can only"sample" if there is previous documentation or an original completion certicicate, and if not you must do 100%

personally I do 100% testing and sample accessories

For a dwelling or small commercial, I would test all circuits, global test for IR, Zs at all points of utilisation and test all RCDs.

That would take a substantial amount of time to perform.
