You have trained part p Electricians who have laid out fortune and pay £400+ every year to stay registered with a scheme provider.

People are starting to get really desperate out there. But when in work, everyone forgets what's really happening out there.

I chose to be out of work this week , because I not will take the **** out of myself, allowing others to get me at a good rate and then try and work the bulls out of me.

Good. I 100% agree with you. once they are down on their knees earning £60 a day you at least have your pride and respect from clients etc .

I put my charges up this year... My advice is tap into the more bespoke private sector.

Must be easy for you boys. Having the money behind you to take the high horse. Its a sad fact of life and for £300 I would have been fighting for that job aswell

My tolerance level as gone, I always work hard and do a good job, but prepared to sit out of work until I find something what suits me.

I run some local ads this week, so will do take on any work from the phone calls (if I get any) at the least money goes in my bin not some FREELOADER off my back.

Meant to be seeing a testing company soon about some PIR's, but not holding my breath, they may have twigged I'm not going to be mugged off.

Waiting on some other bits and pieces, generally made my mind up that I'm going to be scratching around for the coming months maybe the whole year.

£60 a day, its heading that way at the moment but only after stoppages.

yes, you could do it for that, just. as long as you walk to the job, have no labour costs, no overheads like silly public liability, no £700 MFT, a neon tester will do for the testing.

who said i was "rolling in it"? no bloody way i can tell you. I do not even own my own property ( best decision i ever made !) i do not own a car worth more than £4k. I buy a lot off ebay etc

But.... I am happy. Honest and my clients like me. I dont think i will die from a heart attack ! And i do not owe money

I like my life simple . BUT i will not be treated like a dog . Thats not to say i do not "Understand" the situation for many

But i know it will get worse and once on your knees you will not be allowed to stand back up

There are always customers only wanting to pay £30 for an extra light or socket ect.

What they do not realise is the work involved in testing that circuit before and after, and the responsibility you are taking on when you issue a mwic or eic not to mention that you drove to the job (1.30ltr) not teleported. At the end of the day if after explaining whats involved and their still not willing to pay for a proper job, walk away and save your reputation

Best to quote to do the job properly not to quote so low that you may tempt yourself to cut corners.
