Me personally would like him to come back and say he has rectified his problem, then we can all take our right hand and place it on our left shoulder, Then give ourselves a pat on the back for being so helpful

try crossing your live and earth at the board. do a r1r2 test at every socket. the one with the highest reading check the connections. do the same for the neutrals then try you end to end readings again and see if you get better results.

Is your tester actually working??? L-L reading and N-N reading should at least be very similar if not exact same and E-E reading should be higher. Have you done a 'figure of 8' check? Could help determine an issue. You need to check connections at every point. Your high N-N reading suggests to me that a cable is barely touching the terminal. I am assuming you have done insulation resistance and got the all clear?

Hello Murdoch

Thanks for feedback. Yep, spot on, cheers, it was a loose connection in a socket, thankfully it was the first one I tried so thank you for the advice
Spent thousands trying to set up as a sole trador so starting to panic with my assessment and my mind is going blank.

Hay Murdoch, serious, I just won £60 on the lottery, I'll round it up to £100 (another £40 won't make a differance with the amount I have spent lately anyway), name your charity (except bank of Murdoch) and I'll donate it to that chrarity with thanks to all on the Electricans Forum.

This forum isn't about money, its about contributing, asking questions, offering answers, showing your thanks, and likes.

Asking questions and not providing feedback just pxsses members off!

Hello chaps and chapettes,
Continuity of final ring circuit I measured:

L-L = 1.45
E-E = 0.8
but measuring N-N I got 108.8....???!!!!!!

Any ideas..? Or are those readings good in my limited experience and consequently I'm an idiot.

A out of date Cadbury's cream egg for the most sarcastic answer but a sensible one would be nice.

Calculate R1+R2 for me from the above!
