There is no cooker circuit at all.

Just thought a fused spur would have a better connection than the pins on a plugtop going into a socket.

Is there a way of knowing whether its the connected load or maximum load?

13amp plug in a 13amp socket funnily enough is designed for 13amps! A 13 amp fused connection unit is also designed for 13 amps connected load. What more can one say on the matter?

Look at the instruction book for the oven in question, it will tell you how much power each element in the oven is rated at, and somewhere it may explain each mode of the oven and tell you which/how many elements can be switched on at once. You can take this information and get a good idea of the max demand for this thing.
I'm not aware of an oven element of more than 2.5KW being in normal use in domestic ovens but there's always a first time. A likely configuration is 2KW oven element with 1.5KW grill element operating independantly so maximum you could have on at once is 2KW.

So go check the specification of the oven and make your decision

maybe its me being over the top, but I always put oven on a separate radial, the same with hob. some people only look at the 'now' and never 1 or 2 years into the future. All of my hobs are on 6mm even if they are gas. I do not presume to know what the future requirements are going to be and to be honest its only a few extra quid on the initial install , but a good few quid if it has to be upgraded say a year later as is probable in this case.

I know that UK sockets are called and rated as 13A, but i've seen 15A fuses freely available for plug tops and FCU in many countries over the years. To be honest, looking at Yank, Aussie and other European socket outlet equivalents, that are generally all rated at 16A, the good old UK fused 13A plug top is more than capable of carrying an extra couple of amps to 15A!! lol!!

but a lot of the cheapo sockets struggle with anything over 8A. has several 2kW kettles where the plug was fused into the socket.

God knows how those Yank sockets and plugs cope with 16A then ...lol!!

Can't really say i have that much experience with cheapo sockets Tel. We generally tend to use MK and Crabtree (occasionally ABB, that i must say i'm not keen on at all) and can't say that i've seen that situation arising to date...
