Hi, not sure I'm posting in the right place as it's my 1st visit but I'm hoping to be able to get some advice.
I live in a council flat and have heard that there arenow regulations regarding positioning of a cooker. Our kitchen was wired about 20 years ago and the cooker socket (including a plug socket) is positioned above the only place the cooker can fit which is in a corner next to a window. Please could anyone point me in the right direction to obtain copies of the regulations regarding the above to give me ammunition to confront the council regarding their refusal to refit my kitchen when they are doing others or tell me what the regulations are regarding distances from corners, windows and sockets that the cooker should be.

Thanks, Kriss

a socket outlet, cooker panel should not be direct above a cooker for safety reasons, if your were to plug something in whilst cooking this could burn the cable and could result in electric shock, and i think after telling them to move it if they refuse they would be liable

found this in one of my books this is current 17th regs :)
