Re: EICs
Hmmm, I is cynical perhaps! :)
They're all flat pack houses, so (just maybe), there exists somewhere, one design spec and a big fat drawer full of EICs, all with exactly the same test results on them.

The EIC would of been sent to the person orering the work ie.D.W.Homes,they would keep it but realy should give copy to home owner, the Building compliance certificate (Part P) would be sent to the property address.

Perhaps polite letter to the managing director of Barrett's pointing out the concerns, lack of certificates etc and the likely HSE investigation that would follow should anyone be hurt or killed. Corporate manslaughter charges seem to be getting more common these days. You would have thought it wouldn't have taken much for them to sort it out just for the sake of maintaining a good reputation.

Ok Spoon. Got me on that one. I always bought houses pre 1960's so never had the pleasure of new build and the big boy builders. Not a fan of plasterboard walls.

Phone went on go slow on post upload so hit the button several times. Still, I like to get my point over.

We have been dealing directly with multiple Managing Directors and Emailing the CEO. They want to fight as long as possible and have now refused to address any issues. All our issues have now been passed to teh NHBC to address which also includes snagging issues and fixtures\fittings like toilet flushers etc.

They are rotton from the top, so if the CEO condones this behaviour then every employee below acts accordingly.

i'd not employ any of these big house builders to construct a dog kennel. all they're concerned with is throwing them up in the shortest possible time for the maximum profit.

I would report you to the RSPCA for cruelty to animals if you got David Wilson Homes (Barrett's) to build your dog kennel. :) Agree with maximum profit statement.

Hi All,

I have got hold of DWH Constrcution notes and noticed so many things wrong however this is another electrical question. There notes state lights MUST NOT be in the shower cubicle however we have lights in every shower.

Is this a safety issue?

See attached.
