That is the issue. I can't do CAD. We have someone who goes to site and measures etc but they are expensive. Railway expensive. We are trying to do things differently and I need someone more 'reasonable'

be honest with me. If I said we are paying £1600 for a half day survey and production of drawing for EM lighting layout do you think that is reasonable??

Its a bit on the steep side, but on rail you charge what you want, aren`t there existing drawings from the construction company....with guys I work for, we design in cad, but give them pdf to work from

The issue is we are carrying out em light testing and more than half have no design to back up the install. Trying to get anything from NR is hard as most went missing during the changes from BR to RT etc.

we also are insisting to NR that ALL our Em lighting new installs are designed first. This is after all the proper way to do things.

Thats sad not having original drawings..? bet Bailey`s have them, suggestion would be get building layouts done only at cheaper rate. Once these are produced, electrical, em control units, fire, PA data, cctv can all be design as an when needed.

once done, each section layout can be added for final handover.....plus selling or buying your drawings to or from other contractors is another way
