Hello, I need lot of help!
I am an architetcural student participating in a competition. I was given a costing job and having the most difficult time because I have no clue what electrical works and materials are needed.
I need to cost eectrical services installation and labour for a mass timber residential house. 9x6x11 size built to passivhous standard in Sunderland UK
Is here anyone who could help me with either preliminar cost if hypothetically an electrician contractor will supply the materials and labour.
Fom what I understand the jobs would be: sockets, swiches, lights, cooling and heating, water boilers/pumps. Would you also help me with what I am missing.
Thank you!

There are people on here who do 1st and 2nd fix of new builds, one approach might be to ask a more specific question about ball park number of hours for 1st and 2nd fix of a large detached new build, to allow a conservative guess at labour costs based on a typical hourly rate for the area.

In terms of what is missing, what comes to mind: Cooker circuit. Smoke alarms, maybe sub-main to a separate garage.
In terms of more detailed bits -Consumer unit. Cable (200m of 1mm T+E and 2.5mm T+E, 50m of 6mm T+E as a very conservative guess). Back boxes (patresses). Cable clips. Capping / galv channel. Coffee.

I'd expect final answer to be somewhere between ÂŁ5K and ÂŁ12K depending on spec.

Thank you for your advise. it is more then anyone else was able to give me. Everyone seem to need drawings to tell me more, but design team hasn't provided any yet.

Would you know the difference in price (%) between internal and external wiring at all? Thank you.

With the high price of cable these days and the high probability of even more price hikes, if I was shooting blind without any confirmed electrical layout then I would as about shoot at ÂŁ100.00 per electrical point. If there is a lot of points in close proximity you might be able to lower that price very slightly.
but shooting blind ÂŁ100.00 per point.

Do you also need to cost the actual provision of an electricity supply?

You might need to speak to the local DNO (distribution network operator) who provides the electrical infrastructure to get cost estimates, but that can vary massively depending on the location of the planned property.
