CU Change

Whoa don't reveal my true identity Pete! How do they abbreviate single pole solid neutral then?

SP. sod the neutral.

Well on a TT system if you have a neutral to earth fault a solid neutral device will see it and trip but the fault won't be cleared so it will likely take out your time delayed main rcd too.

Be good to see the bus bar of those spsn devices

So what's the benefit is spsn?

A standard rcbo does not break the neutral, even if it detects a neutral fault. In fact upon detecting a neutral to earth fault a standard rcbo will disconnect the (non-faulty) line conductor, which is a logically ridiculous situation along with the, albeit very slight in domestic, possibility of the N-E fault diverting neutral currents to the point of overloading conductors.

Nice, I had bought a Wylex high integrity board to replace the one in my house. I will now be palming that off on someone else and buying these!:-)

Here are their details if you don't already have them.

Are these the same compact RCBO's that were in Professional Electrician a month or so ago...?

Look a very smart bit of kit, am I right in saying they'll retrofit in most exiting CCU's?
