Just a quick one.. I only really install brand new CU's and Dis Boards in my current firm. I have been asked to do a CU change for a friend. In terms of testing what do you guys actually test? when only changing the CU itself? Should i just test the rcd trip times and Ze, PFC. I mean if i think about it, its only an accessory and i havent changed the overall design. I could liken it to changing a light sw, just takes longer.

Whats the protocol on this?

The correct way is to notify the building authorities if you are not with a scheme. If you are with a scheme then you can notify the work yourself.
The correct tests are shown in this link http://electrical.------.org/wiring-regulations/forms/. Just click on the model forms and look at pages 3,4,5,6 and 7 which show all the tests that need to be carried out as part of the Electrical Installation Certificate.
