I’m currently looking for a Fluke Link Runner to test my Cat5e to see when fault finding if any of the cores etc are damaged. Or something similar.

you can buy cheap testers on ebay. 8 LEDs to show all cores and terminations OK.

....or screwfix/toolstation if you need it quickly... the orange TIS one is perfectly adequate for Cat5/6 testing.

It shows that there is a connection between each pin yes, it doesn't in any way provide the testing that the linkrunner the OP is looking for.
