I am going to be cutting some chip board floors with my circular saw and to be honest when working on domestic propertys i have a total
fear of cutting through pipes/cables underneath,even after setting the circular saw.I want to purchase a second hand detector and the ones i have had in the past have been about as reliable as draper drill any got any tips and recomend a 2nd hand detector to get of ebay

i did one cut a small hole in the board poked the camera through the hole had a good look round saw pipes cables all at a good depth set the saw depth cut out a section of board found a 22mm gas pipe under the board just missed it by mm talk about close ill tell you
 
This is a great thread for collecting experiences of accessing under boards, much appreciated by me, but I too am after a pipe/cable detector..
The forum appears to only have one thread for that (Reliable Stud/cable detector) which is correctly found in the Electrical Tools and Products category. I suggest any further replies for a "pipe/cable detector" get added to that one? I'm headed there now to add my findings..!
