My thoughts exactly mate. Never had one do anything to the car yet (well, one clipped my wing mirror with his elbow once haha), but I'm just waiting for it.

As for calmness, I'm in the same situation due to a head injury 10 years ago.
the thing was, he didnt break it. if he did i probably would have knocked him off.

what is it with pushbikes that undertake all the time in traffic, i dont know about you but i dont watch the inside cerb (in rearview mirror) anywhere near as much as to the right as there should be nothing there on a normal street

im not the greatest driver anyway and sometimes weave from one side to another a little, not enough to cause a danger to others but if a pushbike gets to close its possible.

now before you say it i always pull in tight to the side for motorbikes, i have no problem with them is tools on pushbikes that anoy me and 30mph in a 60+

The problem is that there are idiots who drive cars, idiots who ride motorbikes and there are deluded people who ride push bikes. There always will be. Some people just think that they own the road, whatever they are driving/riding.
There are cyclist who are too important to indicate which way they are going and car drives who think that they can cut you off on a two lane roundabout so that they don't have to turn as much.
Idiots everywhere.....

Corrected it for you

Thing with cyclists though, is that they routinely put their lives in danger and I just can't fathom why. It's either pure idiocy or a complete lack of awareness.

They have no perception of the hazards and dangers around them and any incident is somebody else's fault not their's

London, Chelsea bridge 8am, you just get swamped by bikes and they bully the car drivers!!

I think the councils and police have allowed these self righteous cyclists carte blanche to declare war on the motorist without any comeback for the problems they cause. Since some cyclists where killed in London they want trucks fitted with alsorts of sensors to protect cyclists from their own stupidity when sending them for some education would be more appropriate

i think these hgv's are doing us a service getting rid of these nutters.

im far enough north that any foreign hgv driver will have driven at least a couple hundreds miles on uk roads so no problem for me

And that is the problem, they have no awareness of other road users, don't seem to know or care what is around them, swing out at will to go around puddles or drains (or if they look over their shoulder), and generally pay no attention to anything but riding. Most also completely ignore anything that orders them to give way as well.

I resent that fact that I have to care more about their safety than they do.

Motorists are always blamed when a cyclist ends up under the wheels, and you have knobs out protesting that someone has been killed, completely disregarding the reasons why they were killed. I remember one in East London last year, where the bloke came (the wrong way) out of a one way side street and straight into the main road and an hgv. Another example was an hgv in Victoria, sitting with his indicator on, a cyclist comes up and parks alongside him and is then killed. I actually think very few motorists are actually prosecuted for killing them.

The amount of them in London at rush hour is a complete joke as well, if you're at the front of a red traffic light, you literally have about 20 around you by the time it goes to green. And of course there's the idiots at night, who ride around in dark clothing and no lights.

If I'm in traffic and a bike is coming up, I'll always nudge over a bit, the problem with bikes though, is that they're constantly switching from inside to outside and even if they see you indicating, will still plough ahead at full speed, thinking that you should wait til they're clear.

Everyone wanders in lanes sometimes or has bad days, but I never wander into other people's lanes, particularly at bloody roundabouts (where nobody seems to be able to drive). It's no exaggeration that I have to avoid a crash nearly every single day, due to other motorists, but at least the vast majority understand the roads.

Some cyclists ride fine, stay over, obey road laws and know exactly what is going on, but there are so many who don't, and I have hundreds of the ****ers round my roads every weekend. I still maintain that drivers who refuse to overtake unless they can position their entire care on the wrong side of the road, are just as big a problem. As are people who don't drive the speed limit.

Way I see it with cyclists, is that the further they ride away from the kerb, the closer I'll pass to them, because I'm not driving on the wrong side of the road and putting myself and any other motorists at risk. I just have to pray that I don't clip one (again).

got stuck a couple vehicles behind one today, a tool refused to overtake a bike at 4:30pm on a country road where you can see for a good mile infront.

talking about not doing speed limit here is a good one for you.

yesterday i was behind a car doing 25mph on sliproad onto a50, i undertook on the hardshoulder (its two lanes really) then 2 more cars behind me and a hgv undertook the same way and all 4 vechicles were on the a50 before that car XD

Oh they're a joke mate, the country roads by me are a bit twisty but some people refuse to overtake even when it's wide enough and there is enough vision ahead.

Talking about slip roads, I joined the m23 near Gatwick today and very nearly crashed due to two cars who refused to move over, had to brake and squeeze in between both in the end. Thats another thing that infuriates me, ******s who don't move over.

Constantly stuck behind people on the roads by me that drive well under the speed limit as well, which IMO, is more dangerous than driving over the limit and should be subject to exactly the same fines and points system.

I've only just fitted a cam in my car, and starting to enjoy using it, although it mainly catches me abusing other motorists rather than anything else haha.

I have to say that any and all comments in this thread that have suggested chasing, provoking, or knocking over cyclists has thoroughly disgusted me. If you're the eye for an eye sort of guy then you are just part of the problem. Cyclists are far more vulnerable to injury than any car driver on the road, and should be treated as such.

we may say that but most wouldnt actually knock them off.

if they get really absusive id rather use my fist, afterall you wouldnt start ranting and raving at someone in a pub on a friday and expect to keep your teeth or finish your drink

by provoking i mean idiot drivers by the way, some get really anoyed when you overtake them when they are doing 20, in a 30 for example

Cyclists do the vast majority of provoking, and we all know how vulnerable they are, but they don't seem to! As for knocking them off, no driver will ever want to knock one off because they could well be killed, but cyclists do not do themselves any favours, and must shoulder a lot of responsibility for their utterly stupid actions sometimes, swinging out without looking being a prime example, as well as riding miles away from the kerb and riding at less than the speed limit while holding up traffic.
