Has anybody made a dust and debris eliminator ? I need one but don't fancy paying ÂŁ20 for a Tupperware box !

just use the box that downlights come in. tape around sides, not too tight, hole in bottom or top for arbor, cut top (or bottom) to just above teeth of holesaw, does fine. got given latex one yesterday and yet to try but if good even at ÂŁ20 it will pay for itself timewise not having to keep making as above. my only thought is dust 'clinging' to latex, but i couldn't see through cardboard either!

Yup, I got one a lil while back. Only used it twice and you still get some dust getting out, but it does catch most of it.

Good for occupied domestic situations. And does massively reduce getting a mouth or hair full of dust. It is actually silicone and bends as it were. It also classifies itself as a consumable ie it won't last forever.

I would buy one again.

Get it swept under the rug when the customer is making you a brew.

Very useful bit of kit, just have to remember you have it on your drill when you have used it as I have forgotten a couple of times and made more mess after drilling when pointing the drill down.

heh heh, likewise! i carry an old paint tub and put beside steps, upend drill and pull trigger which usually gets rid of cutout as well although, with my diy one, dust gets caught under 'flaps'

The D.A.D.E is a great piece of kit. Catches most of the dust, keeps it off the floor and more importantly out of your eyes and hair. I have had mine for a couple of years and its still as good as new. At ÂŁ20 its a bargain

Never used one but if it's only made from silicone then you could make one yourself, looks like all you need is a yogurt pot as a mould...........I know a handy trick on making silicone set quicker :wink_smile:

This is an update on the D.A.D.E.;
Have been using it a while now and have to say it's one of those things that you don't need but will be thinking 'why didn't I get one sooner?'. Saves time making DIY one and minimises fine dust on you, your tools, your steps and everything else within the 10 metre radius that fine dust manages to travel to!! Does leave a ring of dust on ceiling so I just carry a soft paint brush in pocket.
