Anyone here sitting this exam?
Im sitting it at Dudley college, bricking it but had to get to it sooner or later.
I was reading a city and guilds report on a past paper and it sounded as tho the pass mark depends on passing the top 40-50% nationally ? So i could get 90% of the answers correct but if nationally Im not in the top 40-50% i could still fail?
Also are u marked down for spelling errors, iv only done online exams so far and been sucessful, all distinctions for L2 2330, high 80's percentage for 2382 2392, 100% for PAT, but non were written. Are u allowed calculators or are u not allowed to take anything in with u?

Got this question on a previous paper, but can only think of one answer.

'State why Zs - Ze CANNOT be used to accurately determine R1+R2?'

the only thing i can think of is parallel paths, but its a 3 point question so there must be more answers, can anyone help me out?

Yes due to parallel paths is correct.

Unstable Earth connection.

Just because a question is worth 3 marks doesn't ALWAYS mean there is more to the answer than what you think.

I took the paper last night 99% sure I passed this time

Did you get the trick question about information ONLY from the DNO relating to the supply?

main protective device size and type as we are unable to cut the protective seal on fuse housing to verify is the answer I wrote down.
do you agree?

By not doing R1R2 or just R2 you are not confirming continuity of circuit protective conductors. Doing a Zs test only would not show if a break in CPc existed Zs could get a result from parallel earth paths only.
Maybe the extra marks?

I put type and rating of supply protective device.

We were discussing this after the exam - some of us put Nominal Voltage and Frequency, as on the form there's a (1) next to the space for the reading which states "by enquiry". We did a bunch of past papers and our tutor seemed to think that was the way to go. Still unsure, as both seem kind of right...

Was fairly happy with the paper overall, but now it's done I can't help thinking perhaps my wording was off in places, or maybe they were looking for something else in places... Well, what's done is done! Roll on 45 working days from now.

I put nominal frequency and earthing arrangement for tht DNO, but Earthing arrangement is wrong.
Totally agree with 1 and 4 disgraceful, but lookin after i think they wanted ' 1All installed Equipment etc to British Standards etc' for No1 as the question asked to verify.
Then No4 asked for Initial Verification's Purpose, there's the first paragraph on pager 17 of GN3, tht my tutor said sometimes they have a question for but students get it mixed up with the 1,2,3 on the same page.
Also screwed up on Ze Test in section B, totally forgot it was 3phase so there should have been 6 tests!!! Bol lo xs!!

Iv used this exam as a guide to things i need to work on between now and March if i havent passed, defo need to work out a clearer method of writing out my Tests, i think we had to write three test methods out last night?
Section A isnt a problem apart from understanding what they are asking for in the first few questions, but it seems im not alone. Section B was fairly straight forward tbh.
