Decommissioning ceiling roses .. any tips.

Any tips .. good practice decommissioning ceiling roses. Recommendations re small MF JB that can be used to maintain continuity of the loop and poke back up above ceiling without knocking too bigger hole?

Wagobox 221-4, is the smallest MF joint box I know of. Can’t bits be rewired or removed?

Usual pre emptive guessing Midwest, as not had a close look at the job. Very likely that there will be no access from above.

About the smallest, but circ £4 a pop

Only thing about those things ^^^^^ is the cables have to go in both ends, so it might be slim, but it might need a bigger hole if the length of the cables are tight.

With the Wagobox, cables go in one end.

I’d have thought nothing was maintainance free ref wago/lever connectors unless they were in the manufacturers box’s?....what are you doing @FatAlan doing away with the roses completely?...

Not sure those ones have an MF rating by the manufacturer, whomever that might be, and instructions completely followed.

If I recall Wagos are only MF rated if installed in one of the Connexbox JB’s, and instructions followed.

The regulation actually states that the enclosure must be marked MF to comply

Customer has a couple of ceiling lights in living room that they want removing and made safe. That’s why I was asking really re the wagos having to go inside the correct enclosure to make them MF.

given the choice if repairing a cable in a wall and there's no slack and i can't be arsed chopping into the brick, i'll write "MF" on the heat shrink with a Sharpie. what about repairing a cable with crimps and heat shrinking the joint? that's not officially MF either.

Comes down to defining accessibility surely?....if it’s floorboards above they would be accessible wouldn’t they?
