Any tips .. good practice decommissioning ceiling roses. Recommendations re small MF JB that can be used to maintain continuity of the loop and poke back up above ceiling without knocking too bigger hole?
 
Depends where on the circuit the rose is. If you can disconnect loop on one before then that's a way to deal with the end one. Otherwise your loop in loop out can both go on the grey quick wire splitter at same end, the white ones have power in and out same end too. but if cables tight disconnect switch drop as its redundant at switch as well. Remove pendant. Job done.
 
given the choice if repairing a cable in a wall and there's no slack and i can't be arsed chopping into the brick, i'll write "MF" on the heat shrink with a Sharpie. what about repairing a cable with crimps and heat shrinking the joint? that's not officially MF either.
There's several ways to comply with 526.3. The only one that needs to be labelled MF is maintenance free accessories. None of the others, including crimping, need marking MF
