Hi all

Does anyone have a good link to where I can find the basic process to follow (with the design calcs) and step by step instruction for designing a new circuit?

They do mate - its called 2391-20, I defo want to do it but their is a project which supposedly you allow 30 HOURS for!!

I don't wanna tackle something like that until I've done a bit of research first.

Problem I have is that I am office based most of the time in a project management role managing public sector contracts for Digital TV systems, came off the tools a few years ago and got stuck in the office, better money at the time but its like a slow death.

Did all my electrical certs off my own back this year as I wanted to get into Solar PV systems but its really difficult to get the practical experience.

No m8 we can download the lot HONEST its the gov that want you to install to a safe and methodical method so why pay to gain that info if you google ITC-BT 25 you will get the domestic install guide etc etc All available for FREE from miistry of science and technology
Is this another one of your jokes mayfair?

Mayfair was on about the documents he requires to work with, which has nothing to do with what you need.
You need BS7671 which cannot be obtained for free as a download (legally).
The 2392-10 handbook, which is what you are considering, quotes:

Is the examination open book?
Yes, the 2391-303 examination is an open book test and the following reference
materials are permitted:
• The IEE wiring regulations – either the 16th edition June 2001 amendment onwards
of the 17th edition (please note the 17th edition will be mandatory from June 2008
onwards).
• IEE On-site Guide and/or AEEU Guide to Good Electrical Practice
• IEE Guidance Note 3

Didnt mean to confuse the issue m8 I just really thought that when i heard members on about these books the had them because they were neat versions of the regs ie easy to fit in your bag etc as here i carry round a file with punched A4 sheets in it..........I didnt realise that paying 60 quid was the only way to get them. Sorry if i confused you.
