So VD as well as high supply voltage will cause a problem at high generation.

Looking at the figures and the client's own daily log I have been able to collate generation levels to weather conditions and a pattern has formed. The supply to the property is via overhead lines and its own regulator before coming to the property. No other property supplies come off this regulator. The peak monitored incoming voltage being 252.5V only 0.5V under the maximum. Our own measurements show voltage to be always higher than 243V and around 245 most of the time.

The Inverter is 50mts away from the incomer. and when generating sits at about 242V to 252V until peak generation when it rises to over 255V and drops out. Anything between 255V and 259V. Supply was 10mm T&E now its going to be 16mm to meet the <1% VD regardless of the 70 degree rating also.

Taking to different people and suppliers it appears the high voltage to the property is the cause of the problem adding in the VD on the cable and the generation levels at peak times causes the inverter to drop out. The increase in cable size can be addressed yet the high voltage cannot as the DNO state it is within their limits (by .05V!) I am thinking about putting in writing to the DNO that we are also going to monitor the supply voltage (via the inverter monitor) and if the inverter suggests high voltage over 253V then we will be looking at compensation.

I think that is a very good idea and it's something that we will look at also in the future.
