Dimmable LED Lamps

Hi people,

In your experience guys what is the best make and model of dimmer switch for dimming say 6 x 9 watt Haler sealed LED fittings (dimmable of course), I have a job to do in a couple of weeks and the advice that I am getting from the wholesalers in very poor to say the least.

I have been advised to get trailing edge dimmer switch or module by some people and a normal dimmer switch by others.

Any experiences that you can share please.............

I don't know an awful lot about dimmable LEDs , but my experiences of them is that they are problematic Maybe that's why you are getting conflicting advice

My wholesalers are telling me that I could use either leading or trailing edge dimmers for LED dimmable fittings, any thoughts anyone?

I've just had a nightmare of a job dimming a load of halers in a kitchen, 3 dimmers later I've found a dimming module that works a treat, it's by aurora and its got a dial inside which lets you set the lowest dimming level if that helps.

Thanks for that it looks spot on, one last thing would it be interchangeable with a chrome switch plate IYO

Hmmmm not 100% on that one mate, I just fitted them on white plastic and they were fine. Hopefully these will do the trick for you!

Do you just unscrew and remove the factory fitted module and replace it with the Aurora one? If you do it should fit I would have thought, fingers crossed.

Yep that's all you do, this was my 3rd set of dimmers so glad it worked!!! Let me know how you get on

Thats the problem I have had so many conflicting opinions from wholesalers, its nice to find someone who has fit them then cured the issue with trial and error.
