Don't know if I'm going about this in the right context, would it be possible to give me access to the DIY forum please?

I had a look in there. I’m surprised at some of the names I saw.
Bear one thing in mind fella, sometimes a thread gets posted on the main forum, some of us reply, then the Admins move it to the DIY forum, so I may appear in one or two threads but actually have no access in there as I do not want to be in there. You may find some of the names you saw in there are like me and not actually participating in that forum.

It's very possible that threads with several replies from members without DIY access are later relocated into the DIY forum.

Pete, Simpson, Glenn and Tony I gave you access.

Joking, just Pete and Simpson.

It will make me reluctant to post if there’s a possibility of getting shunted in there.
Most DIY is easy enough to spot.

Most get herded in there fairly pronto but the one or two that slip the net you can usually see it's a DIY'er fairly early on. Shouldn't be too difficult to avoid them if you feel that way.

I dont mind helping a DIYer having a problem or looking for advise on something I consider to be within a competant DIYer's capabilities....within reason.Mainly because I myself have sought advise from other forums on car repairs and plumbing issues etc that I intended to do myself,I'm a DIYer to those forums and advise was freely given. I'll wager many of the members on here slagging off the DIY forum have themselves sought advise on other forums about other trades that they are undertaking themselves.

The DIY forum is on an 'opt-in' basis because many members have no patience with DIY'ers and don't wish to assist them. I can happily give you access on the understanding the we don't tolerate insulting or sarcastic comments regardless of how stupid the questions may seem.

I think everyone should have access in the first instance and if they start playing up get their access removed. You need to click on the title DIY Section to get into that forum so it's a bit of a giveaway as to what the content of the topics is going to be. (So anyone being an --- has gone out of their way to be an --- so deserves to have their access removed!)

I'd also like access more to see the pictures than anything.
