I have a socket to move in a kitchen, which is fed via mini trunking. Do I have to notify the local council since I understand the part p has changed slightly, any advice on this matter thanks

If all you are doing is moving it, not extending the circuit, and in all other respects it is compliant, then just do it and say nowt, who's gonna know. But if it isnt compliant then bring it up to current standards, then you will need to notify because you may well have changed the circuit characteristics, and if something goes pear shaped, guess where the brown stuff will land.

Cheers..........Howard

Thanks I always check to make sure it's compliant. And all I'm doing is moving it. But I'm sure with part p you don't have to notify if you working in a kitchen anymore if a new circuit is not being install or changed.

Dont think the Notification police will kick your door down anytime soon lol you are no different from thousands of others who pop into B&Q or Screwfix to replace their CU at the weekend

That is true I'm just trying to be Thorough even tho my company I work for is part p registerd the council have been getting involved. So I'm just getting all the facts before I start the work

in summary part P was (is) a farce then ??!!
LoL

most domestic clients had / have never heard of it
bah humbug

Of course its a farce but the trick from the Schemies is to still get their membership fees making the member think its worthwhile as he or she have to jump through their hoops

Marnic and kofi just the answer I needed its what I thought, just needed confirmation. As for for the rest of the comments thanks its always good to here a diverse opinion gets the brain thinking. Love this site
