Your assuming it is properly terminated SWA looking at it closely i'm not so sure

It's only SY cable and, if it's warm enough, the shrouds will bend.

A crap job done in SY and 3c blue flex. there's even SY glands fitted but no protective wire earthing.

Socket 'installed' for electric fireplace.

Lightswitch, the wad of tape is to stop the bare earth wires touching the switch terminals.

Shower cable joint under floorboards.

And one final one (I should have organised these into one post). The place I was working Friday had an entire office suspended ceiling held up with 1.5mm2 copper wire like this. I don't know how it hasn't collapsed.

A creative mis-use of a Henley block....
It's got me wondering who would know enough to know they exist but also think that's ok!

I've done that as a temporary joint in my own loft for a shower, 4 years ago.... one day i'll sort it.

I think they misunderstood.

Lights not working. Generally poor installation. Flexible conduit runs up pole to light and the end is open allowing rain in to the box, among other problems.

Lighting poles fixed with a load of plastic ties.

And cables buried a few inches under the surface, run in water pipe across the entrance of a lorry yard.

It was one of the few fire alarm cables that was fixed! Most were just thrown about above the suspended ceilings. Don't worry, they are all fixed properly now, and that cable shown has been replaced.
