Hi
As part of my plumbing training it includes a seperate Part P training/qualification You must first register with Elecsa I originally wanted this so that i could wire controls etc However, it seems that I will be qualified to do a lot more once qualified and assessed Can someone please clarify if this will allow me to do ALL domestic wiring or just in special locations ? Also once assessed what equipment will I need ?
Thanks :)

Good answers above mate, I would say that as a general plumber(qualified ) as well as a qualified electrician, you would be looking to spend probably ÂŁ500 on stock, ÂŁ3k on major tools, and probably another ÂŁ1k in the first year on tools and stock to be really complete. Most of our work is manking holes in buildings, you may well already have all that equipment. I have found that its not possible to be both a plumber and electrician. You just cant keep up with it all.

Depends how you apply to Elecsa or whatever else... They have a "defined scope" for other professions who may encounter electrical work in the course of plumbing or whatever or "full scope" for electricians. I'd give Elecsa a bell, very nice and helpful people.
